点评：We planned our Camino Portugese around the swinging of the Botafumiero on May 23 2026. We arrived in Santiago May 22 and found out the Boutafumiero would be swung on that night's mass as the scheduled May 23(The Appearance of the Apostle-Clavijo) and May 24(Pentecost Sunday) was too close to avoid overcrowding. Do check with the tourist information desk or the pilgrim's office. Even the official website cannot be accurate but as a guide; https://oficinadelperegrino.com/en/ufaq/when-is-the-botafumeiro-used/ The entrance to the church is by the side of the cathedral where the museum is located. Main important thing is do get in 1.5-hours before the start time as it gets very crowded and standing room only.
