点评:Virupaksha Temple
The only “Jagrut” temple in Hampi – the house of Lord Shiva – Virupaksha! A tall Gopuram welcomes you as you enter the premises. There’s a ticket of Rs. 25 (it’s worth paying this money) which allows you the Lords darshan from inside the Garbha Gruha. Being off season there was no queue at all, and we made it inside the Garbha Gruha within no time. Seeking His blessings was the highlight of our Hampi visit!
There’s a temple called Hemakuta Temple atop a hill. Next to it is located the Moola (Original) Virupaksha Temple. It’s at a height maybe 200 feet or so and its adjacent to the Virupaksha Temple. Please climb up to that height and view the Virupaksha Temple from there. It’s a sight to behold. We could have sat there for hours but had to leave as we had to cover other important sights.
