Worst Castle, Grounds and Customer Service

点评：Extremely poor experience.
The grounds are very run down.
At the gate it advises we have to pay £10 per person to walk the grounds and go into the Castle and Norman Centre.
Nothing was open. We spoke to a lady cleaning one of the cottage's and she told us to go to the hotel/castle reception and pointed to where it was. This was also not open.
We walked around the back and nothing open.
The grounds are in a bad state of disrepair and you cannot walk on the walkways due to moss, being slippery and fallen branches trees.
On the way out I called their customer service line to ask for a refund as it was clearly not open like it advertised going in and taking my money. I took photographic evidence of this.
Spoke to Shirley who was rude and basically said as we had walked on the ground we would not get a refund .
Was called back by Peter the groundskeeper who said I should have called them and they would have opened up for us.
Nowhere does it say on any of the boards where you pay or the receipt I received to call them.
I feel totally ripped off and disappointed ☹️
Do not go as there are a lot more castles and beautiful gardens in the area to visit.
