点评：I’m local to this pool - just across the park. As you arrive you see a very unkempt car park with a very rundown feel. When you walk in to the entrance and look down at the mat it probably hasn’t been vacuumed for 10 years. Everything inside is old and dusty. The vending machine is out of order.
There are two people at reception that somehow manage to avoid engaging with me even though I’m the only one coming in. Eventually they decide to ask me what I need. A ticket. £9.50 per person, other prices are available if you buy more (10,20).
The changing rooms are frankly a disgrace. I’m no whinger and I’ve got normal hygiene standards but this makes the local pub toilets look good. The lockers and dirty, there is mould on the ceiling. The floor is filthy and the whole place smells damp.
I get changed and go to have a shower. Between peeling paint, mould, dirty floor, and awful water pressure it’s like a school rugby changing room on a bad day.
The pool itself is the only redeeming feature. It’s reasonably cool (better for swimming) and there are plenty of lanes. A bit more management would be welcome - there were to lifeguards but I don’t think they did anything other than look at their phone. Some people in the swimming lane were just walking or standing up in the middle of a lap and others were charging up and down with flippers. Chaotic.
With so many staff and such high prices it is to be hoped that they spend a bit of time cleaning.
