点评:Amazing little museum, that is absolutely packed with memorabilia. The model railway shed is an enthusiast's heaven, with intricate layouts and so many different engines and carriages of different ages. Then through to another barn, with the most fantastic meccano models, and so many toys from days gone by - the more you look, the more different things you see. There is really enough in here to fill a much larger space, which would showcase each intricate model and do justice to the work that's gone into it. There's a mine mockup too, with lots of interesting facts and a miniature railway to ride on that goes much further than expected.
The volunteers that help run this place are all so lovely and keen to share their joy of it with you - they really can't do enough to help, and it is to the credit of all the work put in over the years by these hard working people. Free to enter, kept going by donations.
Ignore the negative reviews - yes, the stuff is old and parts are dusty. Isn't that to be expected? They receive no funding to display in pristine, clinical display cases and it would lose its charm if they did. Long may it continue.
Oh, and I can honestly say I saw nothing that anyone could take offence at - they're toys for goodness sake. No secret agenda, just a taste of yesteryear.
