点评：My wife Cindy and I did our first aurora photography tour with Ronn & Marketa of The Aurora Chasers back in 2021, and it left such a mark on us that we came back again just this week. That says everything.
Ronn and Marketa can't control the weather or the auroras — no one can — but what they can control is their dedication to giving you every possible chance to witness the lights. They will drive until they find clear skies, and make sudden, joyful pit stops the moment the lights bloom while you're in transit. Their enthusiasm is completely genuine, and it's contagious.
What truly sets this tour apart is the photography instruction. Before our first trip, I had read articles and watched videos, and I was still overwhelmed the moment I got out in sub-zero Fairbanks temps trying to photograph something as fleeting as the aurora. After just one tour with Ronn & Marketa, I could calmly and confidently handle my camera and read both space and terrestrial weather using the apps they taught us. Cindy and I have since gone chasing on our own and captured stunning images — something I honestly didn't think I was capable of before.
This trip, my remote trigger port failed. Ronn worked through it with me, and when we realized it couldn't be fixed, he knew my DSLR well enough to suggest using the exposure delay setting — saving my entire night of shooting. That kind of knowledge and genuine care is rare.
Beyond the auroras themselves, Ronn & Marketa's warmth and hospitality make every moment a joy. They don't just show you the northern lights — they hand you a whole new passion. Night sky photography is now a part of my life because of them.
