点评:The Chimp Rehabilitation Project was a very special place to stay. We were expecting tents with no electricity and shared composting toilets, but were surprised to find that two of the tents had been rebuilt on concrete bases and included their own flushing toilets! Probably lost a bit of character as a result though. Not sure why they didn't install power in the tents during the upgrade? The food was excellent given the remote location, though they could not understand my wife's dietary preferences which we provided in advance! Quite long transfers, but this was as expected.
Our guide (Mau?) was excellent and showed us vervet monkeys, colobus monkeys, plenty of birds and of course the star of the show, the chimps!
Unfortunately they had severe staffing problems while we were there, which did not adversely affect us, but I fear for the future of the project. It would be very sad if it were to close down. It was a very expensive add-on to our holiday, so I really hope GE gave the majority of those funds to the project, to hopefully allow it to continue operating.
