Wonderfully protected cenote

点评：We really enjoyed this cenote as we went twice. It sits right in the middle of the jungle and has crystal clear water. It is an open cenote. It has stairs to enter the water or two different height platforms to jump straight in. We really appreciated the gentleman letting us know that we could not bring our bags due to them trying to maintain pristine conditions of the cenote. He mentioned that they were having problems in the past with people cigarette smoking and leaving their cigarette butts all around and the iguanas ingesting them. Unfortunately, people tend to ruin everything good so we have to suffer the consequences from other’s actions. He said that they want to keep it very natural without all of the big commercialism. He was very kind to let us know that he could hold our backpacks in his office there or it was safe to leave them in the car as they are always keeping an eye out on things. Weekends are definitely more busy as we were there on a Saturday and then went back on Monday and there was a big difference. Lots of tour companies bring their tourists here. It never felt overly busy though, and it was just so relaxing. The water makes your skin feel so refreshed. They have changing rooms, bathrooms, and a place to picnic. We will definitely be back on our next visit!
