Beautiful Location, but Disappointing Lighting and Communication

点评：We booked a photo session in Bora Bora for 65,000 XPF. The photographer was friendly, and the setting was beautiful, but unfortunately the overall experience and final gallery did not meet our expectations.
Before the shoot, we mentioned several times that we would prefer a sunset session because we were concerned the lighting would be softer and more flattering. We were encouraged to schedule the session in the morning because the boat transportation was included at that time. I was still worried about the strong sunlight, and during the session we were frequently positioned in direct sun.
Unfortunately, those concerns showed up in many of the final photos. Several had harsh shadows across our faces, uneven lighting, or visible squinting. While the scenery was beautiful, many of the images were not photos we would choose to print or share. I am including examples with this review so others can see the lighting issues I am referring to.
The package included 50 edited images selected from a larger gallery. During the session, we were told we could have as many photos as we wanted, which made the selection process confusing. Additional downloads were later priced at $4 each. Had that been clearer during the shoot, I would have been much more discerning with my selections, especially since several of the images I downloaded were affected by the lighting issues.
When I reached out, the photographer added five extra images, which I appreciated. However, the response felt defensive and explained that some people naturally squint more in tropical light. That was disappointing because we had specifically raised concerns about the lighting beforehand and had asked about shooting at sunset.
We are grateful to have a few beautiful memories from Bora Bora, but for the price, I expected clearer communication and more consistently flattering lighting and positioning. Overall, the experience did not fully meet our expectations.
