点评：Navigating an underground river is a thrilling experience anyway, but the satisfaction is double when you want to hide from the extreme heat. Visited the place in August, when the South of France was cooking hot under the famous heat wave. The time spent in a temperature below 15°C, while the outside temperature was around 40°C, made our day better. The guide was very entertaining - a tiny girl talking non-stop while maneuvering a boat full of twelve adults.
Unfortunately, the tourist exploitation of the cave is not very sustainable, due to the constant light and noise produced by tourists and boats hitting the formations. I understood that the cave was once home to bats and tritons that lived in the subterranean river. I wouldn't like to be a newt or a bat, living in this cave in these conditions.
