点评:We managed to see six tombs in our visit to Valley of the Kings and in our opinion, this was the best. It is an extra cost on top of the standard ticket that allows you to see three tombs, but it is certainly worth it. At the time of our visit it was quiet.
It has an interesting history. Originally started by Ramses V but was taken over by his successor who enlarged the tomb considerably and the rubble which the enlarged tomb created thereby hiding any chance of discovery was the chief reason why Tutankhamen’s tomb (located close by) was only discovered in the 20h century.
The change in quality of carvings is noticeable once reaching Ramses VI corridor. There are several noticeable features including the blue Astronomical ceiling and some excellent carvings on the descent to the main funerary room. Here the king’s sarcophagus lies, broken into hundreds of pieces by early robbers but partially put back together. The final room with its high ceiling is spectacular, covered floor to ceiling with intricate carvings.
