点评:Another tomb with an interesting history. It was originally intended for a previous Pharaoh Sethnakht but when they dug into an adjacent tomb, it was abandoned only to be taken up by Ramses III when the route of the successor tomb was diverted. The abandoned route can still be seen when walking down into the tomb. The subject matter on some of the carvings is unusual because as well as the expected references to gods and conflict, there are also scenes of everyday life, not normally seen in royal tombs. Unfortunately, these are mainly located in short side alcoves which are difficult to see because there are plastic screens all along the side walls that obstructs the view. The need for these to protect the carvings is understandable but they are not cleaned so taking clear photos is difficult.
This is one of the busier tombs as it is accessed with a standard ticket and is quite close to the entrance. It appeared to be a favourite of tour group visits but as these do not last more than 10 minutes, it is best to linger until they pass through and very soon space to look at the carvings in greater detail soon becomes available.
