A Stunning Jewel of Angkor – Absolutely Worth the Trip!

点评：Banteay Srei. Often called the “Citadel of Women,” this temple truly lives up to its reputation as one of the most beautifully carved structures in the entire Angkor complex.
Although it’s smaller than other temples, the level of detail is absolutely breathtaking. The pink sandstone gives the entire site a warm glow, especially during the early morning sun. Every wall, doorway, and lintel features incredibly intricate carvings—mythical scenes, delicate patterns, and fine details that look almost impossibly precise.
The atmosphere around the temple is peaceful, and because it’s located a bit farther from the main Angkor area, the visit feels more relaxed and less crowded. The drive out there is also lovely, passing through charming villages and countryside.
If you appreciate craftsmanship, history, and unique architecture, Banteay Srei is a must-see. It offers a completely different vibe compared to the larger temples and adds so much depth to the overall Angkor experience. I highly recommend including it in your itinerary—you won’t regret it!
