A little disappointing given the higher cost compared to other show farms in the area.
Highgate Ostrich Show Farm的点评
点评：I visited this farm may years ago as a child and had fond memories, so I thought it would be a nice idea to bring my family to the same farm so that they could experience something similar (obviously some things have had to change over the past 30 years - such as racing ostriches, which is fine).
I left the farm feeling somewhat disappointed in that I think the farm's website oversold the tour - based on a few reasons:
1) Highgate is the oldest show farm in the region & should therefore (in theory) have the best tour infrastructure. Not sure what was different about our tour as it seemed very standard.
2) Highgate's fees are at a premium compared the other show farms in the area, which implies that the tour had something unique, but there was nothing special about the tour.
3) The advertised tour duration was 1hr 15min, but our tour only lasted 45min (our guide opened the tour by saying that it would only be 45min)
4) The tour was advertised to include learning "more about our incubators" - I was expecting to be taking into the incubator room to see the eggs under lamps etc, but all this entailed was a 2min talk between stops about the changes in incubator technology over the years and pointing out some old looking mechanical engine sitting outside a building
5) The tour was also advertised as allowing us to "visit the breeding room". This never happened.
6) When the tour guide demonstrated the strength of the eggs (by standing on four eggs), he didn't offer any of the guests to do the same - not even any of the kids.
In short, I am not sure what justifies the higher price as the tour seems to be standard compared to the other 2 big show farms in the area (Cango and Safari - who are both cheaper & closer to town).
Having said all of the above, the family's highlights included having the opportunity to hold 1 month old chicks and being able to feed the birds (using a bucket - not your hand as implied on the website)

6) 当导游演示鸡蛋的承重能力（站在四个鸡蛋上）时，他没有邀请任何游客也这样做——甚至没有邀请孩子们。
