The Apple Works的点评
点评：First of all, I will start by saying that we have taking our kids to AppleWorks for years to get pumpkins for carving. They are now teenagers and don’t necessarily want to do any of the kid activities so today we decided we would go to the pumpkin patch just to get pumpkins. We did drive 53 minutes, which was OK considering that we’ve always had a good experience at AppleWorks but today that all changed.
We arrived at opening time and drove straight back to the pumpkin patch. We got parked and walked into a little bit of a different set up than we’ve seen in the past. I wasn’t that shocked until we started walking into the fields and realized that there were absolutely no pumpkins. No decent pumpkins that are even anything that’s close to carving worthy. In the past, we have always walked to the back of the fields, especially if we are later in the month of October but this year all we found were weeds. There was a sign that said “due to the arrogance of others” that we would need to go to the east and south east fields so we headed over that direction.
There were still not very many pumpkin options. Now mind you, I know that we are more than halfway through the month of October, but typically there’s been a little more option. There were pumpkins at the front lot available for purchase, but they definitely look like they came from a different field and possibly a different company. The fields were SO overgrown with weeds and some did not even look like they were planted this year.
What was left of the pumpkins in the field were all flat on one side and either rotten or half eaten.
If you anticipate going to Apple Works this year to get pumpkins, I would highly recommend that you rethink. We were so disappointed in our experience today, and I don’t think that we will ever go back.
