点评:This was the highlight of our trip. We met chef Franco Sanna in the morning and we went to the Rialto market. A favourite of mine and a true treasure trove of the most wonderful natural products. It was an immersing and fun experience to meet all his colleagues and suppliers. His enthusiasm is intoxicating. We created the menu based on what we saw that day that was appealing to us, we chose the products and ingredients that we were going to use later on to prepare a truly memorable and delicious luncheon with a selection of superb paired wines.
We chose very local and unique seasonal Venetian ingredients. Before returning to the hotel he took us to a local bar for a little aperitivo and a couple of stores where we acquired certain ingredients we were looking for. Back at the hotel, they have a truly beautiful kitchen/dinning space, it feels like being at private home. Chef Franco shared his deep knowledge and cooking secrets with gusto and we learned a great deal while having a very good time, talking and laughing. He has a good sense of humour and time flew. We cooked, ate a fabulous three course meal and spent a wonderful six hours together.
We love the hotel and this was a bonus. It is a great addition to a magnificent place with the most wonderful staff.
I would highly recommend it, for anyone the is passionate about cooking.
