点评:Benllech is a lovely place, but unfortunately it’s been taken over by dogs.
Despite the beach restrictions on dog use up to the end of September, this is largely flouted with animals given the full run of the place with zero enforcement.
The soiling begins on the promenade where you easily see dogs urinating as they go, as well as unloaded their bowels. To be fair a lot of owners do pick it up, obviously after you have the joy of a dog that ‘ate too much salmon’ the night before, suffering on the pavement.
But tread carefully - there are unwelcome surprises underfoot.
The beach though, whilst great for exercising your dog while young ones try and find a clean spot for sand castle building, is effectively one massive dog toilet, dogs running freely and cars clogging up the seaside road.
It’s sad that so many places like this are dominated by dog owners, most of whom actually care for their animals, but not the sanctity of a peaceful beach.
