点评:We arrived at the Chengdu Panda Base around 7:45 am and it was already very crowded. Since Hua Hua is the most famous panda, we queued to see her first, which took about 45 minutes.
We visited several other mansions /enclosures afterward, but in the early morning most pandas were simply sitting and eating bamboo. There wasn’t much activity or interaction, and they were often quite far away, making it difficult to get good close-up photos—especially with the large crowds.
We also stopped by the Moon Nursery and Sun Nursery but didn’t see any cubs during our visit.
The park itself is massive. We entered through the south gate, and while there were paid shuttle services that weren't included in the admission tickets (we were quoted 31 yuan to reach the west side), we chose to walk. Even after spending about five hours exploring, we only saw nine pandas in total.
By around 11:30 am, most of the pandas had become inactive and were napping on platforms or in trees.
Overall, it was a bit disappointing, especially since seeing pandas was our main reason for visiting Chengdu. That said, if you’ve never seen a panda in real life, it may still be worthwhile—just be sure to manage your expectations.
