点评:I had never visited this state park and I wanted to experience at least one or two of the hiking trails here. The day was misty, and I was met by 1000 mosquitoes when I stepped onto the Nature Discovery trail. This trail is short, level, gives you a view of the Tippecanoe River and leads to the Nature Center, where I saw my first Baltimore oriole feeding on fruit the staff puts out. I then took trail 4 into the Preserve, and that was my big mistake. This trail was muddy from the recent rains, swarming with gnats and mosquitoes and at the point where it intersects with trails 3 and 5, essentially disappears. I got turned around, hiked well out of my way, then found my way back to the parking area using my phone's GPS (embarrassing!!) Signage is sparse throughout the park, so visitors should definitely download and print out the park map so they don't make the same mistakes that I did.
