Great observation center to see whales from the shore
Marine Environment Discovery Centre的点评
点评：Great observation center to learn about whales and other marine creatures, and even see some from the shore. We observed several whales, probably minke or fin, as well as porpoises from the rocky shoreline. They breached the surface near the shore for a moment. We were fortunate that it was a clear sunny day so it was easier to see the whales.
If it is foggy, it is more difficult to see whales, but still worth a try. July and August are prime months. The guides were informative and friendly. There is a small museum that often has a live stream to scuba divers who show what is underwater. It was not operating when we were there, but there were good exhibits. The centre was free this summer, but I don't think it's free every year. We bought some merchandise to contribute. The admission fee of about $7 is worthwhile in my opinion. You are supporting a worthy endeavor.
