A beautiful and authentic journey into life of Mekong
Cai Rang Floating Market的点评
点评：This experience was one of the most memorable moments of our time in Vietnam and an absolute must when visiting Can Tho. What made it truly exceptional was our wonderful guide, Mai. With her warm personality, beautiful smile and excellent English, she brought the Mekong to life through stories about the history, culture and changing future of Cai Rang Floating Market.
Although the market is smaller than it once was, it remains an authentic and living part of the Mekong. We did not feel like tourists simply watching from a distance. We felt genuinely immersed in the rhythm of life on the river. We enjoyed morning coffee and a delicious bowl of phở purchased from local floating vendors, tasted fresh fruit, and were warmly welcomed aboard a traditional houseboat. Seeing how a family lives on the water was deeply personal and gave us a much richer understanding of the floating market and the people who call it home.
The journey continued with visits to a traditional rice noodle workshop and a local cacao farm. We especially loved learning about the many stages involved in producing cacao and tasting the differences between white, milk and dark chocolate. The refreshing iced chocolate drink was absolutely delicious.
All food, drinks, fresh fruit and hotel transfers were included. The price may be slightly higher than some other tours, but the personal attention, thoughtful organisation and depth of the experience made it worth every penny.
We loved Mai so much that we specifically requested her again for our countryside cycling experience the following day, which we also thoroughly recommend. Thank you, Mai, for sharing your home, knowledge and kindness with us. We arrived as visitors but left feeling a genuine connection with the people and spirit of the Mekong.
