Muzium Samudera (maritime Museum)的点评
点评：We were interested in the history of Melaka especially the various European cultures sailing here and trading over the years. This ship museum looked promising.
(We didn't go to the nearby Flora and Fauna Museum nor the Malaysian Naval Museum whose entry was included with this ticket).
What we found was some good information but not displayed in an easy-to-follow chronological and logical manner and in fact some exhibits didn't have dates nor descriptions. The various information panels were arranged on sheets of canvas to resemble galleon sails - interesting and creative. But in several cases mould or rusty streaks- caused by dripping air-conditioning and high humidity -made the panels really difficult to read . This was disappointing. Also I'd have loved to see more graphics of life in Melaka showing interaction of locals with sailing traders and maps showing where these ships had travelled from and to.
It was interesting to read about the local officials and their roles.
The whole display generally looked tired, lacking and ready for a refresh. But I think it was good to go aboard this ship and be impressed by the fortitude of the traders and sailors and the efforts involved. They were certainly brave and adventurous.
