Oklahoma City Riversport的点评
点评：To me, this is the best place in Oklahoma. Let me tell you why I highly prefer Riversport over some waterpark or Hurricane Harbor with my kids!
1) First, I fee it is MUCH more family friendly. At other parks we have to deal with unattended teenagers cussing, vaping, and being wild. Riversport has none of that.
2) Second, Riversport feels safe. It is “small” enough that I can see my kids easily from a bridge no matter which activity they are involved in and I feel so much less worried about someone grabbing them or coercing than I do at say frontier city.
3) Third, Riversport has activities for adults to enjoy!!! I LOVE the rafting, tubing, and I can comfortably sunbathe while the kids surf and body board. At other water parks most of the time is spent just watching the kids or taking part in activities I don’t really want to do (think splash pad bucket of water falling on your head or the same slide over and over blah!).
4) There’s also easy access to indoors, you can always go inside to shop, eat, go to your locker room, play video games upstairs etc, indoor availability is highly limited or none existent at other summer water parks I’ve been to.
5) Lastly, the lines are never more than 15 minutes for us. I would recommend going on a weekday if at all possible since I think Saturdays do have a bit longer lines. I truly cannot recommend Riversport highly enough - if your kids are 8 or above I say it’s a no brainer!! It’s thrilling and exciting and yes, some of the rafting trips can feel “scary” but the guides there are good about making sure everyone is safe and rescuing you quickly if you happen to fall out (doesn’t happen that often).
If you live anywhere close to OKC and plan to go more than once, the season pass is the way to go. We have bought season passes for the past three years and money wise, the pass is a STEAL! ($99 Black Friday sale). Membership includes coming every day through the summer (weekends only in May and Aug), an extra hour of surfing in the evenings not available to the public, a free locker in the membership locker room, (membership locker room also includes a private bathroom and shower), two rafting trips included each day, bringing guests for free on Mondays, and a 20% discount on all food and merchandise. I think $200 for that all summer would still be a steal!
My only wishes echo what a few others have said - I wish there were opportunities for adults to go on single tubes if they sign an extra waiver or something. We also wish there was an adventure day where members get to do extra fun things like try to float down the channel or go on a ducky, etc. We’d be willing to pay something like $50/person for that day!!!! I also think they should have a winter pass that allows skiing, and an indoor flo-rider, we would love to stay active all winter. I wish the lessons were more clear also - we asked for kayaking lessons and got different answers from different staff. Some said you have to be 16, some said you can’t practice on the white water no matter what, some said they are included in the membership, it’s not clear. We love the tubing but we will keep advocating for a tubing conveyor belt (they have enough room to build one now that Bark is closed) that transports the tubes for you from the end of tubing back up to the starting point.
