Southern Walls of Sozopol & Fortress
A lovely little piece of history to discover while exploring Sozopol’s Old Town. The Southern Fortress Walls are well preserved and give you a real sense of the town’s history, with some impressive old stonework and the remains of the fortress and tower.
It’s very easy to miss when walking along the walls, so keep an eye out for the entrance. Once inside, you can explore the remains and enjoy some fantastic views across the sea and coastline.
Entry was €4 for adults and €3 for seniors, which we thought was very reasonable.
We also picked up a lovely €6 hand-painted plate featuring the Sozopol Tower. The shop also had free energy stones, so we grabbed one of those as a little extra souvenir!
It isn’t a huge attraction and you probably won’t spend hours here, but it’s definitely worth stopping at while exploring the Old Town. The combination of history, views and the setting makes it a really enjoyable little visit.
Definitely worth looking out for — especially as it’s so easy to walk straight past it!
