点评:We were taken to the shop in Kusadasi by Viking after a trip to Ephesus. We enjoyed the demonstration of silk making and the hand-knotting of rugs. We decided to take a chance buying a beautiful 5x6 wool on cotton hand-knotted rug with a "tree of life" pattern. It cost much, much more than I would have predicted, though we did negotiate a lower price; whether they would have accepted even less is impossible to know. I probably paid way too much. But their promise that the price included shipping, insurance, and all taxes and duties helped. It took 10 weeks for them to deliver the rug (I was just getting ready to email Matis literally the same day that the delivery man called) and two Turkish men brought the rug to our house. I had been worried that there could be tariffs added because of the crazy situation now, but no. Oddly, the delivery man tried to persuade me to trade up to a larger rug he had on his truck that would take up more of my small living room, but it was thinner and not as vibrant in color, so I declined. For other reviewers who have claimed that a machine-made rug was substituted for the one they were shown in Turkiye, I can attest that my rug was authentic and hand-made. Matis honored their commitment in every way, and we love, love our rug.
