点评：Buyer beware! I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Chic's Marina. On the day of our reservation, wildfire smoke from the Canadian wildfires caused air quality in the Lake George area to reach unhealthy levels. Our group included a baby under 1 years old, a toddler, and elderly grandparents, so going out on the lake simply was not a safe decision.
I did not ask for a refund. I only asked if we could move our reservation to any other available date, and I made it clear I was completely flexible. Despite the extraordinary circumstances, the marina refused to work with us in any way and kept our $300 deposit.
I understand businesses have cancellation policies, but exceptional circumstances call for reasonable customer service. I wasn't asking for my money back, only the opportunity to reschedule. Instead, we lost our $300 deposit for choosing our family's health and safety over spending a day on the water in hazardous air quality.
Based on how this situation was handled, I cannot recommend Chic's Marina. There are plenty of other marinas on Lake George that value customer relationships and are willing to work with customers when unforeseen events occur.
