圣奥古斯丁考古公园的点评
点评：More than 500 statues have been uncovered in the San Agustin region and although many still remain right where they were found, a lot are also housed at this Archaeological Park.
The statues are carved from volcanic stone and represent various sacred animals and anthropomorphic figures. Different sections within the park include an outdoor museum with 9 exhibits, a statue forest that’s about half a mile, funerary sites which contain some of the park’s most famous statues, a work of hydraulic engineering, and the important Alto del Lavapatas where remains of a home were found.
Tickets for foreigners cost about 65,000 Colombian Pesos (or about $17 US). This ticket (or what they call passport) is a little booklet with maps and info on the archaeological sites in town, and it’s valid at the three archaeological parks in the area (San Agustin, Alto de las Piedras, and Alto de los Ídolos) for two days.
