Hell's Gate Airtram的点评
点评：I went with my brother who uses a power wheelchair. While the Hell's Gate website says they are fully accessible (and I tried calling and emailing to get more info but was never able to reach anyone), here are the further details around the level of accessibility to help you decide on going:
1. There is a wood plank they will put in place to bridge the small gap and threshold from platform into tram. It didn't feel very sturdy, a metal ramp would have been better.
2. The door width of the tram is tight, but a standard power wheelchair fits (we had a 24.5" wide chair). A bariatric chair will not fit through.
3. Bathrooms are located in the lower part. No power doors. No family/all gender bathrooms so an attendant would need to be okay in different gendered bathroom (but it's not too busy there so we didn't mind). There is a larger stall with one grab bar on the wall but the bathroom itself is a little tight. However it was doable. The cut out for the sink was not enough to get the power chair fully under so my brother had difficulty reaching the sink. Soap and towel dispensers are high, required attendant to get.
4. Some of the wood ramps to access parts of the museum did not transition smoothly so there can be some threshold challenges.
5. The slope of the ramp to get to the bridge is very steep. We did not want to risk it with the power chair. Also, the bridge is not wheelchair accessible as there are two planks of wood across the metal grate floor.
Overall it was a nice outing. The food was decent, staff were nice, scenery was spectacular and the ride was a fun experience. It's too bad there wasn't a discount (at least a senior's rate) for an adult wheelchair user as a wheelchair cannot access all parts of the attraction.
I would recommend it for a wheelchair user but just be aware of the limitations and that a wheelchair user will not get the full experience.
