辛哈拉加森林保护区的点评
点评：If you’re looking for a perfectly manicured walking trail, this isn’t it; and that’s exactly what makes Sinharaja National Park so amazing. This is a real rainforest adventure, complete with incredible wildlife, towering trees, muddy paths, and the occasional surprise waiting on your socks!
Our guides were absolutely brilliant. They were friendly, genuinely passionate about the rainforest, and seemed to have superhero-level eyesight. While we were admiring the scenery, they were somehow spotting tiny frogs, colourful birds, snakes, and insects hidden in places we’d walked straight past. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and we learned so much along the way.
A word of warning: the leeches are very enthusiastic about meeting new visitors. They don’t care how fit you are or where you’re from, they just want to say hello! Wear long trousers, proper hiking shoes or boots, and long socks (or leech socks if you have them). Trust me, you’ll be much happier finding amazing wildlife than discovering you’ve become part of the rainforest food chain.
Despite our tiny hitchhikers, this was one of the highlights of our trip to Sri Lanka. If you love nature and don’t mind getting a little muddy in exchange for an authentic rainforest experience, don’t miss it. Just remember you’ll be watching for wildlife, and the leeches will be watching for you!
