点评：Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary is in Thodupuzha and Udumbanchola taluks, Kerala, known for rich biodiversity, forests, and the scenic Idukki Reservoir. It covers forests surrounding the Arch Dam, steep mountains, valleys, and hills.
Forests are essentially dense teak, rosewood, jackfruit, ebony, cinnamon, and diverse bamboo species. If your are lucky to see Elephants, bison, sambar deer, wild dogs, jungle cats. Came to know that there are tiger, wild boar, apart from various species of snakes , etc. Birds include jungle fowl, myna, laughing thrush, black bulbul, peafowl, woodpecker, kingfisher, etc.
It is open throughout the year for visitors. However, December to April is the best season to visit.
To reach is accessible via road (approx. 2 km from Idukki Bus Stand), with the nearest major city being Thodupuzha. The nearest airport is Cochin International Airport (approx. 112–128 km), and the closest railway station is Kottayam (85–87 km).
