Coombabah Lakes Conservation Area的点评
点评：This park is a little bit far but you can reach it easily by tramway and bus. First, you need to take the tramway and get off at Griffith University Station. Then, with no need of crossing the street, you can take bus 719 and get off at Pine Ridge Rd at Coombabah High School station. From there you need to walk for around ten minutes. Following GPS directions makes it very easy. There are many reasons why you should go to this park. First of all, it is free of charge. Secondly, you won't find many tourists there. Last but not the least, you can see kangaroos in their real habitat. At the entrance, you will find two different trails...one is on your left and the other one on your right. Hit the one on your left! That is the kangaroo trail. If you follow that trail, after walking for nearly 10 minutes, you will find yourselves in the middle of a very big open space. That is where kangaroos gather. You will be able to see many of them. But you need to be patient. When it is very hot, you won't spot any of them. The will stay in the shades. Starting from 3 or 3:30 PM, kangaroos will start coming out. I strolled around them trying not to get so close. You never know what their reaction might be. They stared at me with curiosity. I guess they were asking themselves what I was doing there. However, they easily got used to me and kept eating pretending I wasn't there.
If you keep walking, you will arrive at the koala trail. It won't be easy for you to spot them among the branches of very high eucalyptus trees. Some other guys I accidentally met there showed me a couple of them. Without their help, I wouldn't have been able to identify them. One more thing, this park is huge. If you are wildlife enthusiasts and like walking, you can stroll around for hours. I am not exaggerating. It is a very relaxing place where you can spend 3-4 hours. Btw, bring your own food. You won't find any food stall.
