A nealy 2 mile walk, the the cave is closed.

点评：1-2miles walk - then when you get there, its closed! Nice walk and nice view from beach however.
You see a sign at the car park. It says 1 mile. You walk a few hundres yards and see a sign that says 1 mile. You carry on, whar seems like a mile and see another sign, that says 1/2 a mile, the another that says 1/4 mile. These Galloway miles are long!
Anyway, this is a nice forest walk, and the view down to the beach is lovely. The when you get to the beach, the small stones are fine, the large ones are hard to walk on. The cave is just a chunk of rock 'out of the cliff face', but i presume st ninian is supposed to have lived there. So that in itself is impressive.
The sire now is closed off due to danger of falling 'masonry', it says. Sobyou cant really go into cave any more. So a bit of a disappointment, if you stick to the rules. There should be a sign earlier about it being closed really!
