点评：Puente del Inca is one of those places that truly feels unique in the world. This natural rock arch, set in the Andes near the Chilean border, stands out immediately with its striking yellow, orange, and red hues created by mineral-rich thermal waters. The colors against the mountain backdrop with the river running underneath make it a fantastic photo stop.
Although its name suggests Inca construction, the bridge is a natural formation, which makes it even more impressive. Local legends connecting it to the Inca Empire add a bit of mystique to the visit. The bridge was closed to pedestrian traffic in the early 2000’s in order to protect it for future generations to enjoy.
Nearby, you can also see the remains of the old thermal hotel and a historic railway station, which give a glimpse into the area’s past as a thermal spa destination. The hotel, which was built in 1902, was destroyed by a landslide after several days of rain in 1965.
It was never rebuilt.
It’s not a long stop, but it’s definitely a memorable one. If you’re exploring Mendoza or heading toward Aconcagua, Puente del Inca is well worth the visit for its scenery, history, and geology.
