点评：Finally had the opportunity to visit the Trent House and was amazed at how such a small property makes a great historical visit. I was the only person in attendance so I got a very personalized tour. William Trent held a lot of property in the area that would soon be named after him - Trenton. I was surprised to learn that Mr. Trent was a slaveowner. The Museum Curators have designed a great exhibit not only about the Homestead, but also about several of the slaves he owned; and both in attendance were very informative. The information is presented in a balanced thoughtful way to put focus on the slaves that were identified in records as well as present the house in a historical setting. Some folks may be offended, while others my find the information enlightening. From a historical standpoint, I believe we need to present the historical truth so that we may learn from it. As for the house itself, the first floor of the house is presented as an Art Gallery with many interesting, thought provoking paintings while the second floor is maintained with historical furniture and relics. And all of this with no admission charge.
