志莲净苑的点评
点评：Chi Lin nunnery is adjacent to Nan Lian gardens and is very easy to find after getting off at Diamond Hill metro station. You go through the gardens first then go over a small footbridge over the major road to get into the nunnery perched on a hill. One of the nicer cultural attractions as it wasn’t crowded, noisy and artificial. Maybe some of the rocks were. The gardens were well maintained and serene with lots of larger bonsai trees. There was a restaurant with a waterfall but minimum spend was 150 HKD. The nunnery was peaceful and serene. The wooden buildings were amazing, especially when you realise no nails were used to hold those huge beams and roof. The halls with statues were nice, some you couldn’t enter.
You could easily see the nunnery in half an hour. The garden a little longer, an hour or so. At the end, you could go to the mall next to the metro for refreshments.
