Whitman House Museum的点评
点评：We had a wonderful visit to the Whitman Historical Museum in Canso while exploring the town where my mother’s family came from.
We were fortunate to meet Melissa, a local historian who was incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming, and generous with her time. She shared so much of Canso’s history and local lore with us and even helped make connections to our own family name, which made the visit especially meaningful.
One of the highlights was when she briefly closed up the museum so she could take us up to the widow’s walk, where we had a beautiful view of the harbor and could see the site of Mr. Whitman’s former fish-processing operation.
Melissa was friendly, smart, thoughtful, and genuinely interested in helping us understand the history of the town. She is a wonderful ambassador for Canso and made our visit memorable. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the area.
