点评：The chocolate museum is located about a mile outside Bayonne’s city center. While it’s advertised as a tour, it felt more like a self-guided walk-through of the factory, followed by a small chocolate sampling at the end.
The tour does provide a nice history of cacao cultivation and how chocolate making came to Europe, if you are a chocolate enthusiast. It was also interesting to see the equipment and staff making the chocolate. The video was informative, but for visitors who don’t speak French, it can be difficult to follow. The exhibit signs are multilingual, which helps, but the overall experience still felt somewhat limited.
For the time and distance, I would probably skip the museum and visit the chocolate shop in the city center instead. If you’re interested in the history of chocolate and enjoy seeing part of the production process, you may find the visit worthwhile. If you do go, I would recommend reservations in advance.
