Rushed service, poor hygiene, disappointing cake.

点评：I recently visited Apley Farm Cafe late in the afternoon for tea and cake. We arrived around 3pm, aware that closing time was 4pm, and were perfectly happy to order something simple.
Unfortunately, the experience felt rushed from the start. Our order was brought over in a way that felt abrupt, almost thrown onto the table, with a lot of clattering and noise from staff clearly focused on closing rather than customer service. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere — not what you’d expect from what presents itself as an upmarket café.
One of the cakes we ordered was dry and lacked flavour, which was disappointing. More concerning, however, were the hygiene standards. I observed a staff member removing cake covers, scraping crumbs from the display boards into what appeared to be a general waste bin, and then replacing the covers without any apparent cleaning in between.
The overall cleanliness of the café also left a lot to be desired, with rubbish and used napkins visible on the floor. The environment felt untidy and neglected.
Sadly, based on this visit, it’s not somewhere I would choose to return to.
