7 days self-guided kayaking: Wonderful experience

点评：The BEST!. A truly brilliant experience. Made even more so by the seamless and highly effective work behind the scenes by Do The North.
From the booking and placement of the food order; the pick-up and shoreside briefing; the communication whilst out on the water; to the collection at the end, this team is just great. Always friendly, knowledgeable, communicative and efficient. Their advice was well founded and accurate.
In terms of the trip, we were looking for wilderness and a never to be forgotten family experience. Got it in spades...
Seven days out in the archipelago was a brilliant mix of adventure, challenge and superb beauty. I have to admit being a little nervous as we set off. However, we grew into the task pretty quickly. Navigating with map and compass; wild camping on rocky skerries; eating great food recommended by the website recipe pages; watching the endless sunsets and listening to the quiet serenity of the seascape was absolutely perfect.
White tailed eagles were a real highlight, but by no means the only wildlife we saw. As you may expect, there's something wonderful and new to see at every turn.
Harstena was a lovely brief visit to civilisation, before heading back out to the solitude of the Gryt archipelago.
At the end of the trip we sat around talking through the so many highlights and all the fun bits. We agreed that as there's so much more to see, we'd have to come back and do it again.
