We had made a reservation in advance and unfortunately arrived approximately 15 minutes late due to unexpected traffic. Upon arrival, we sincerely apologized to the maître d’, but were met with an unfriendly demeanor and a cold response: “Yes, we gave your table away already.” At that time, there was only one other table of two seated ahead of us.
We were then directed to a shared communal table, despite the fact that there were numerous empty tables for two available in the main dining hall. Most of these tables remained unoccupied throughout the duration of our visit. We would have completely understood being accommodated at any available seating if the restaurant had been full. However, given the visible availability, the decision felt unusual and, frankly, somewhat personal.
Additionally, we noticed that several parties who arrived later without reservations were seated freely at available tables of their choice. This made our experience even more confusing and disappointing.
After we raised our concern, a waitress kindly assisted in moving us to a table for two, for which we were grateful. However, the initial interaction and handling of our reservation left a lasting negative impression.
We chose your establishment expecting a welcoming and professional dining experience, and unfortunately, this was not the case. Based on this visit, we would not recommend stopping by again and would likely continue driving elsewhere next time.
