Lots to see at Auckland Palace.
Auckland Palace的点评
点评：The Auckland Palace is well worth a visit, as you walk through the Palace each rooms brings you a little closer to the present day with lots of interesting information. It is amazing to think that Zubarán’s paintings have hung there since the mid 1700s. Prior to visiting the area, I hadn’t heard of the Prince Bishops who exercised powers normally held by the King.
The walled gardens are filled with bees, butterflies and some useful vegatables too, which supply the cafe and El Castillo restaurant. We had a lovely lunch at the cafe, the carrot and coriander soup was light and filled with flavour. We returned for tea and scones later in the day.
Sadly we didn’t get to see the Spanish Gallery, the opening hours were quite restricted and when we stopped in at 10.30am we were told we couldn't view the paintings until after 12pm. As we had plans nearly every day during our stay it made it impossible to find a suitable visiting time.
While we were visiting, the palace had a duck hunt on for kids which seemed to be very enjoyable and the I’ve Quacked It sticker on completion caught my eye.
We stayed in the Palace Garden Cottage (part of the Auckland Project site) for a week and I can highly recommend it as the perfect base to explore the area from. We also enjoyed a day and evening visit to Kynren, plus a long walk in the deer park of the Palace.
It would be good if the summer opening hours were a little longer, 10/10.30am to 4.30pm is quite restrictive for those who are early birds.

我们在宫殿花园小屋（属于奥克兰项目的一部分）里住了一周，我极力推荐这里作为探索周边地区的理想下榻之所。我们还花了一整天的时间去参观Kynren表演，并在宫殿的鹿园里漫步许久。
如果夏季的开放时间能再长一些就更好了。满分10分，我给10分。上午10点至下午4点半的时间段对于早起的人而言相当受限。
