点评：Diving in the Red Sea out of Sharm can be a very exhilarating experience, with some of the best reefs and wildlife on earth, beautiful, abundant and rich with fantastic visibility.
One can see a giant whale shark, giant trevally, manta ray and great barracuda, and a shipwreck all in one dive, on for example Shark and Yolanda reef at Ras Mohammad. And if you like to look at the smaller vividly colourful life on the reefs, one can spot Nudibranchs and feisty clown fish, and be overwhelmed by the sheer magnanimity of life.
However there can be perils on land, finding the right dive club in the harsh desert can be very disconcerting. If you are new to Sharm, you may be touted here and there by touts promising great underwater experiences, at discounted rates, humm these should be avoided by a polite “la shukran”, after all diving can be dangerous if you are in the clutches of a cowboy, but very safe if you have the right training and are in the good hands of a good club.
Pirates Dive Club, is a first class home for the novice diver wanting to train and for the more experienced diver. Having been on many dives over many years, I have seen it all and recommend this club highly.
A huge thanks to Moody who made 6 days boat diving a hassle-free and wonderful experience. And Dive Master Alex for showing us around the wonderful reefs. The lunch on the boat was a dream. Most of all, many thanks to my friend Mohamed, who checked our equipment, ferried us around, gave us “ful” for breakfast, made sure that our gas and equipment was ready for us on the boat, and made us roar with laughter with his light and witty charm.
See you again next year.
