点评:This was the first time in a balloon for me and my daughter and her friend — the friend, whom I found out later is afraid of heights! The whole process of ballooning is an experience, from the early meet-up before sunrise, the release of the tester helium balloon to determine currents and direction, layout and assembly, prep, and launch, to the flight itself. We found it fascinating, and a total pleasure.
Bill, the owner and pilot, made the morning fun and educational. The flight itself seemed to go amazingly well: I had anticipated going way up in the sky and having a great view and then coming back down — but this was a very skilled bit of flying, as we went up and over and around the beautiful terrain and rock formations of the area. Very impressive navigating, for an aircraft with, as Bill said, “no steering and no brakes”! And the balloon, with Día de Los Muertos and New Mexico themed art, is one of the prettiest hot-air balloons I’ve ever seen. It was designed by Bill and his wife.
Just a top-level experience, and a perfect way to see this beautiful part of the Southwest.
