点评:Well let me start with the pros, there aren’t many because the bus ride there was the best bit. The driver was friendly and played good tunes. As for the experience, we were greeted by a friendly dog and the horses were well mannered.
So for the experience now which was almost all negative. We contacted them in advance to inform them that we were coming and that they could prepare for an experienced ride which our tour operator has done before. When we arrived we were told that it was in fact not and that we could only walk and not really ride. Just follow the leader. For me with 35 years riding experience, a professional polo player this was disappointing. They attempted to upsell another ride for £80 but we had to go on this one first. They were very rude with this and denied that they had been called. We watched our holiday representative do it.
The helmets that we were given were not suitable for riding, no where near up to PAS 015:2011 or BS EN1384:2023. I would not allow beginners to ride with those hats.
They will not allow you to take phones on the ride because they don’t want you taking photos.
When we were shown to our horses I noticed that they were very underweight, many ribs showing at rest and hip bones protruding hugely. Those breeds of horses should not show ribs at rest or protruding hip bones
The experience is very slow, it is only suitable for absolute beginners, if you try to ride the rude staff yell at you, for example another horse stopped infront of me and instead of pulling on the horses mouth I gently moved to the side and stoped slowly. One of the guides shouted at me and then tried to correct my hand position. I explained that I didn’t need instruction and that I was holding the reins in a way that allowed me to use indirect rein but override with direct rein if I needed to. He was dumbfounded at this. He admitted to my fiancee that he was inexperienced and asked her to teach some of the beginners, she is a riding instructor.
The guides were cantering and galloping around the trial and the photographer was whizzing around on a quad bike spooking some of the horses ridden by beginners and children
The guide picked on me many times and was constantly rude I explained that I had played polo competitively in multiple countries. He constantly snarled at me.
The ride is advertised as an hour, it’s more like 40 minutes. The horses are as bored as the people.
Like I mentioned before this is not a horse riding trip. This is sitting on horses nose to tail and is only for very novice riders.
After the ride they tried to upsell private experiences at £80 each (second time to my party) and then kept us trapped for over an hour trying to sell expensive photos £30 per person sent digitally and trying to get people hungry and thirsty, £4 hot drinks, £4 can of soda or food at £12 a burger, we actually started making plans to get a taxi back to our hotel before they finally allowed us to get back on the bus.
