A Calm Christmas Done Right!

点评：For the third year running, Fairytale Farm’s SEN evening with Father Christmas proved that festive magic does not have to come with sensory overload and a side of stress.
From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was perfectly pitched. Calm, quiet, and thoughtfully designed for children with additional needs. No blaring music, no overwhelming crowds, just a relaxed, gentle Christmas experience where everyone could actually enjoy themselves. The staff deserve a special mention here. Unfailingly friendly, endlessly patient, and genuinely helpful in that reassuring “you are very welcome here” kind of way.
The Santa experience itself was charming without being over the top. There was an interactive penguin quiz that was festive and educational, followed by a lovely, unhurried chat with Father Christmas himself. Crafting reindeer food added a hands on touch, and the walk through story of A Christmas Carol was a thoughtful, immersive way to round things off.
You finish your Santa journey in the toy shop, where a voucher is exchanged for a toy from a genuinely good selection. No sad last one on the shelf energy here. There is also the option to buy a photo with Santa, which is tempting when the whole experience has been this well done. Add in the lights and interactive amusements, and there is plenty to keep everyone happily occupied.
Because it is an evening event, the animals are mostly tucked up in bed and a few attractions close earlier, which we do miss. That said, we were able to see a few sheep and donkey and it is a trade off we are more than happy to make. What you lose in access, you gain tenfold in calm, comfort, and consideration.
All in all, it was relaxed, inclusive, thoughtfully organised, and thoroughly enjoyed once again.
