Amazing Overnight Lodge Stay at a Wonderful Sanctuary
The Big Cat Sanctuary的点评
点评：Wow... we stayed for my wife's birthday as a special treat, and special doesn't do it justice.
We had visited once before for an open day and really wanted to visit again, ideally on a less busy day to appreciate the sanctuary in full. As such, the overnight stay seemed an ideal opportunity to do just that, although we had previously debated doing so due to the cost; we are very glad we went for it and have already discussed looking to return in the future again.
We are nature and animal lovers who make regular visits to sanctuaries and wildlife parks whenever we are away, and this has to be one of our favourites - it isn't the biggest, but the number and variety of cat species is excellent, and most importantly the conservation and care aspects are wonderful. Whilst we were there, the new enclosure for small cats was being finished and looked great. We arrived as early as possible and left the next day as late as we could, spending the maximum time in the sanctuary walking around and around again (and taking hundreds of photos) between the activities which were part of the package for the overnight stay.
Included in the stay was: a tour of the park with a keeper in the afternoon, which was great and we learnt a lot about the park and the work done; a lovely 3-course dinner in the evening; a tasty cooked breakfast in the morning; and the opportunity to feed a big cat - My wife fed Neron, the black jaguar, and I fed Willow, the purring cheetah.
The only negative to the whole experience was the wait between our main course and pudding at dinner. Time slots every 30 mins were offered for meals within a set 2-hour period. We took the earliest time as we generally eat early, along with one other couple. Others arrived 30 mins and then 60 mins later. We had our starter and main in good time but then were left without explanation for over an hour whilst those arriving 30 and 60 mins later were all served starters and then mains whilst we waited. One of the groups starting 30 mins after us was even given dessert just before us, which just rubbed it in a little (especially given they had the same items), taking a little of the shine off the evening meal experience, especially as it was so hot sitting for that length of time in the conservatory area where it is served.
As for the accommodation, we stayed in Cheetah Lodge and from the moment we walked up to it, we were blown away. The inside has been recently renovated and is absolutely stunning. It looks and feels massive and so luxurious - it really is a real 5* lodge, which has everything we could need... We both wished we could have stayed for so much longer, and would happily spend a week or more in that lodge if we could.
All staff were amazing and friendly from the moment we arrived at the park until we left. Thank you to everyone at the sanctuary, including those at reception, in the restaurant, the keepers and the maintenance team, to list just a few.

至于住宿，我们住在了猎豹小屋。从我们走近那里的那一刻起，就被深深折服了。小屋的内部最近刚翻新过，简直美得令人惊叹。空间看起来和感觉上都非常宽敞豪华——它绝对称得上是一家五星级小屋，具备我们所需的一切……我们俩都希望能多住一段时间啊。如果可以的话，我们很乐意在那间小屋里待上一周甚至更久。
从我们抵达园区那一刻起直到离开，所有工作人员都极其热情友善。感谢保护区的每一位工作人员——包括接待处、餐厅的职员、饲养员以及维修团队的成员，在此仅列举几例以示感谢。
