Ok but needs a makeover

点评：I went on this many years ago, so knew that the actual rail trip itself was very short. Unfortunately unless a massive amount of funding is found it would be difficult to extend the line over the river. The staff were very helpful and when we went there was also a display of radio controlled tanks as well. The signal box was interesting and you can have a go at operating the signal levers (now disconnected). There is a nice little minature railway alongside the platform and a nice tearoom and that's it. Thee are a few carriages and trucks in various states of repair but not a lot of explanation about them. I do remember seeing a model railway on my lastvisit but that seems to have gone as well.
The train ridexwas a diesel connected to a couple of carriages (the end carriage used to be part of a multiple unit so you can see out of the front and watch the guard operate the brakes.
In summary the staff were great but the place needs spicing up a little .
Allow a couple of hours for your visit.
