点评：What can one say about the beauty of Argentina. People tend to skip Northwest Argentina because of lack of time. But this region is so unique in panorama. While the Iguazu falls and Patagonia are a must-see for every tourist, Northwest Argentina should very much be on that list as well. Its easy to get to dizzying heights in a matter of a couple of hours and the landscape is exotic. The mountain colors change by the time of the day. Hornacal is about 15000 feet above sea level. It is popularly known as the 14 colored mountain. I have not visited the Rainbow Mountain in Peru, but this mountain is spectacular. The last stretch of the journey to get to the 14 colored mountain is a dirt road but the ride is not rough. We saw quite a few Llamas on the way up. The air is definitely thinner but if you are just spending a couple of hours there, there is nothing to worry. From the car parking there is a short trek down to a viewpoint from where once can get a more direct view of the mountain. We visited during the afternoon but its obviously best to visit before sunset and then stay till the sunset so you can experience the resplendent colors.
