Bletchley Leisure Centre的点评
点评：I have been using Bletchley Leisure Centre for around three years and have had a full membership for quite a long time. I currently pay around £36 per month, which I think is a reasonable price for the membership.
Importantly, it is not only me who uses the centre. My whole family uses the facilities regularly, so I have a good reason to want to see the centre maintained and improved.
The swimming pool itself is OK and I don’t have any major complaints about the pool. However, the changing rooms, showers and toilets around the swimming pool really need some attention. At times they are honestly quite disgusting and this is something that should be improved.
The biggest disappointment for me has been the closure of the squash courts. I was a regular squash player and used to play at least twice a week, and my wife also played squash with me. We were both very disappointed when we found out that the courts were being closed. From what I understand, there was no proper consultation with the regular squash players, and as far as I could see there was not even proper consultation with the council before the decision was made.
We were then told that Bletchley customers could use another leisure centre and receive a discounted squash court rate. This sounds reasonable, but when I actually travelled around 30 minutes by car to use the other centre, they did not know anything about the discount. I have already contacted the Bletchley Leisure Centre management about this, but so far I have not received any response.
The gym is one of the best parts of the centre. My 16-year-old son has a gym membership costing £30 per month and he is happy with both the price and the equipment. He also plays basketball at the centre once a week.
My younger son, who is six, trains with MK Breakers in the sports hall every Sunday. This costs me another £40 per month. I also take him swimming around once a week or every couple of weeks.
My wife decided to use PureGym instead of Bletchley for her gym membership. The main reason was the condition of the changing rooms and general maintenance. She found the changing rooms at PureGym much cleaner and the overall maintenance much better. If the changing rooms and general condition at Bletchley were better, she would probably use the gym here as well.
I personally use the sports hall once a week to play basketball as well. The hall itself is fine, but the main floor really needs to be cleaned more regularly. Particularly on Friday evenings, I have found the floor can be very slippery. This is a genuine concern because it increases the risk of someone slipping and getting injured. It feels like the floor simply isn’t being cleaned often enough.
So, as you can see, my family uses the centre quite a lot and we spend a reasonable amount of money on memberships, activities and sports. This is why I would like to see the management take more care of the facilities and, importantly, communicate better with their customers.
Overall, I think the centre has good facilities and the membership prices are reasonable, but there are several areas where the standard could be much better. The gym is good, the swimming pool itself is fine and the sports hall is useful, but maintenance, cleaning and communication with members need improvement.
As someone who has been a regular customer for around three years, I would like to see the management listen more to the people who actually use the facilities and address these issues.
