点评:We were lucky enough that this wet trail hike was open in November (normal opening April-October as the rains come and too dangerous). It’s about 55 mins NW of Karak, the road towards the end alternates between dodgy tarmac and off road and is very steep in places with hairpin bends down and then up on way back! But is doable in a 2WD. At the moment they are doing road construction so you can’t drive down to where the hike begins. We pulled over where the road closed and pondered what to do. There were 2 other rental cars there so figured it was possible. We then saw in the distance 2 people walking back up from the wadi through the construction site. We waited and prepped some kit. A day sack with some water, snacks, towel, dry bag and wet shoes. When they reached us they had some English and they had a guide with them. We accepted his services for 20 JOD. You don’t need a guide for the wadi per se, but we realised we needed him to yell and whistle at the digger drivers who were gouging out rocks to stop whilst we passed! We walked about 300m down to the wadi entrance, changed into our wet shoes, had a cup
of tea and paid another 5 JOD each to do the walk. The siq is beautiful, supplied by hot springs and cold waterfalls, it’s more of a tropical environment. You walk with the current on your way in and against on way back. In November the water was only mid shin deep, but you got wetter mid thigh on way back because going against current. You do need trainers or wet shoes with a bit of sole as it’s quite bruising on the soles of your feet. We hiked in the wadi for 2 hours total there and back, plus the 300m odd walk down to it and back. It was a great experience.
